Reconciliation

I want to report out some good work by your House of Bishops. As you well know we have been dealing privately with the issue of brokenness between members of our house (see ENS article found here: http://episcopaldigitalnetwork.com/ens/2012/07/06/fort-worth-quincy-bishops-want-statement-on-churchs-hierarchical-character/). We have done this work in our private time. I was personally moved by the reconciling character of our time and the true desire to mend our common life on this matter. We have made a mind of the house statement that may be found on ENS and our Website as soon as it is posted.

I am very proud of our house. In my opinion the House of Bishops, over the last 20 years, has now reached a profound and new moment of life together. While I know this work has kept many of our readers and followers waiting because much of it has been done privately while the blogosphere marched on. It has been important for us to do so as the matter before us was very much about the personal, pastoral relationships and loving relationships of your bishops.

Rt. Rev. C. Andrew Doyle, D.D.
IX Bishop of Texas
Sent while out of office.
